The Boat The boat is a 26' Glacier Bay center console catamaran. The twin 130hp Honda 4-cycle outboards are very quiet and give me a cruising speed of 20-22 knots. Twin 120 gallon fuel tanks give me a 90 mile range. But the real attraction is the ride. The boat rides very soft even in rough water. It has to be experienced to be appreciated.
The boat has complete electronics: chartplotter, autopilot, radar, sonar, EPIRB, SIRIUS satellite radio with Bose speakers & big amplifier (you can hook up your personal MP3 or CD player as well.). FLOSCAN fuel computers make sure I know exactly how much fuel I have burned. There are lots of lights: spotlight, dual spreader lights fore & aft, 4 dome & 3 courtesy lights. And a big 8D battery isolated from the starting batteries provides plenty of juice. Makes for an awesome night diving platform. A fiberglass top covers most of the boat; only the forward deck is open, so there is plenty of shade from the tropical sun. If it rains, I can drop canvas all the way around the front.
Dive amenities include racks for 18 tanks, 2 freshwater showers, freshwater rinse tank for masks & cameras, hang regulator, racks for 8 spearguns & a nice platform with 4-step ladder. There are bean bag chairs, huge fish boxes/storage, & a 94-quart ice chest.
